For a more intimate feel in the shower, the ceiling was placed lower than in the rest of the room. Variations in tile shape and size produce a consistent yet visually interesting look and are showcased through clear glass shower doors. A band of darker marble tiles delineates patterning in the shower and complements the marble's dark veining.
On the shower walls, black marble liner tiles indicated the change in tile patterning from herringbone to running bond. A hand shower complements the fixed rain-style head. The two showerheads offer added functionality and spa-like appeal.
For increased privacy, the toilet and bidet are in a separate water closet accessed through a doorway located across from the shower. The floor in the small space features tiny hexagonal mosaic tiles, which to help balance the small scale. The tiles used on the floors elsewhere in the bathroom would have dwarfed the enclosed space. A window located above the door allows natural light to stream in from the large bank of windows in the main portion of the bathroom. A towel warmer pampers and offers a quick drying solution for wet towels.
This luxurious master bath blends classic style with contemporary comforts. A soft neutral color palette permeates the room everywhere you look, from the vanity tops to the floor tiles to the walls. But the green, while stunning, is also a backdrop for the bathroom's show-stopping features, such as the crisp, white freestanding tub, chosen for its sculptural qualities. Balancing between the subdued and sublime is key when creating a dream space to ensure that the room doesn't become overdone.
